Personality: Jay is a very fiery and determined individual to say the least. She's a rather spunky young woman with- what some say- an unbreakable will. Jay has the heart of a fighter and she doesn't put up with an 'I can't 'attitude either. She believes firmly there where there is a will there's a way. It's best to stay out of Jay's way because when she says she's going to do something she's going to do it, regardless the cost of achieving her goal. Some people describe Jay as having a 'badass' mentality and she's most certainly got her scars to show her rough and tumble attitude. On top of all of this Jay is essentially fearless and she absolutely refuses to back down from any challenge presented at her. One other thing that should be noted about Jay is her extensive intelligence. She is extremely good at reading motives and Jay is also a rather perceptive young lady despite her proud attitude. She is extremely protective of the few individuals that she perceives as her family as well. Do harm to any of them and you'll be sure to have started a war you are unable to win. Also, Jay isn't a quiet person in the slightest. She can be extremely talkative around those she trusts and she also doesn't mind raising her voice to get her point across. Some people may call her vulgar at times but Jay simply tells it like it is. She believes whole heartedly in strict honesty and if it hurts someone's feelings in the process it's no skin off her nose. Many of those that encounter Jay for the first time notice that she has a rather domineering and intimidating personality, despite her small size. With this being said Jay is also extremely stubborn and horribly distrusting as others. Some other things that should be noted about Jay's personality are her strong work ethic and her hard-working nature. She also possesses an extreme amount of patience and when she's placed under the gun, Jay flourishes. Jay handles pressure extremely well and despite her fiery nature she's capable of keeping a calm head when she's needed to. On a different note, however, Jay can be genuinely kind underneath her tough walls. After all, there's a reason why her 'family' refers to her as Momma Bear! Underneath her tough and scared exterior a truly kind individual can be found. Since Jay values respect herself she does her best to make sure that her family knows that she cares and respects them the same way they care and respect her. When Jay is close to people she's more than willing to do anything to keep their spirits high as well. Around those she trusts Jay really is capable of filling a room with positive energy as well. Not surprisingly Jay also is a wonderful shoulder to cry on as she is an amazing listener. Given her strategizing nature, Jay is capable of giving wonderful advice specifically tailored for whatever someone may be going through which makes her a wonderful person to talk to when times are dark. All in all Jay can be compared to a very burnt marshmellow. Harsh and burnt on the outside but gooey and sweet when you get down to her center.
Likes: Jay quite honestly loves a good fist fight. She prides herself in her abilities and so it's no surprise why she likes to hone her fighting techniques. When she's not training others how to fight like a soldier she can almost always be found in the training room sparring with a buddy or improving her skills on her own. Another reason why Jay likes to fight as much as she does is because she also uses it as a way to vent her pent up frustrations and stress that inherently come along with her profession. She's quite passionate and diligent about gaining new fighting techniques to her arsenal as well! One thing Jay truly does enjoy is teaching as well. She honestly loves being able to watch her new recruits hone and improve their skills despite what most others think. Despite her recruits sometimes trying her patience Jay honestly does care about those she trains and she works hard to make sure they are prepared when they set foot on the battlefield! Despite her energetic and go-getter attitude Jay actually loves to nap. There's nothing quite better in her mind than curling up on the couch after a long day of work and just escaping into dreamland for a little bit. Another thing Jay enjoys is talking to her loved ones over a nice cup of coffee- after all, she adores an intellectual conversation! Jay also enjoys a good joke despite her sometimes being too serious to understand the pun in question. On a different note Jay also adores nature. When the weather is nice she loves going out for long walks in the woods and loves to climb trees! Another thing Jay enjoys is stargazing with her loved ones on a nice fall or spring night! Being out in the woods gives Jay a certain peace of mind that she often isn't able to get because of the fifty directions her job Is constantly pulling her in. Speaking of nature, Jay absolutely loves thunderstorms! She often sleeps the best when it's raining outside and finds comfort in the booming thunder and flashing lightening! On a different note, Jay absolutely loves to debate! Due to her competitive nature she finds a great sense of pride in being able to establish an effective argument as well as tear someone elses’ into pieces to analyze it. Due to this Jay also enjoys games like 12 men's morris but she also enjoys a good puzzle or two every now and again as well! On a different note Jay also is a rather social drinker and has extensive knowledge on many types of wines and alcoholic beverages- she could establish a very successful bar with her extensive knowledge of drinks and the art of drinking as well. One could say she's a bit of booze hound but she's gotten her drinking habits under control over the past few years. However, Jay also really enjoys cooking as well and loves to experience different regional cooking and cuisines as well!
Dislikes: Jay absolutely cannot stand close minded individuals. She hates it when people take it upon themselves to judge someone's character by their past actions. Speaking of past actions Jay detests talking about her past because she is simply trying to put it behind her so she can move forward with her life. If someone manages to get her to speak about her past she normally has a venomous undertone. Jay also cannot stand when people don't understand the amount of stress she has constantly put on her shoulders and she most certainly can't stand people who don't take her seriously simply because of her gender- this drives her completely crazy. Jay also cannot stand people who spew disrespect and those that impede on the happiness of others. She isn't too fond of arrogant attitudes and believes these people need to learn a little humility. Another thing Jay isn't fond of is summer weather. She doesn't handle the heat as well as she does with the cold and often in the summer months she tends to overheat. She especially hates the heat if it's humid outside. She hates the fact that humidity makes her skin feel sticky. For some unknown reason Jay also doesn't do well with large bodies of water such as lakes or oceans for a fear that they may swallow her and she'll drown. It has also been noted that Jay dreads people that stand over her- this can be especially dangerous when someone stands over her when she sleeps as she packs quite the punch! Because of the dread she feels Jay has to sleep in a high up place, hence why she keeps her bed quite high off the ground. Another thing Jay can't stand is backing down or running away- she considers these actions cowardly and whenever she has to resort to these actions she often beats herself up about it afterwards. On a different note, Jay also can't stand flamboyant colors and tends to stick to desaturated hues herself. Another Jay detests is someone underestimating her abilities. She can't stand being told she can't do something and in return she'll do whatever it takes to prove that individual wrong.
Strengths/Powers: One obvious advantage Jay has against other people is her extreme strength. Paired with her swift and nimble feet as well as her extensive fighting knowledge Jay is obviously quite the lethal threat! However, even more admirable than her physical strength is her mental strength. Jay prides herself in her unbreakable will and unshakeable determination. Another strength of hers lies in here fierce loyalty as well. Jay tends to stick with her comrades through thick and thin and her fearless nature and sharp intelligence ensures that they've got quite the ally on their side! Another notable ability of Jay is her impressive skills in the arts of illusion. Jay is capable of mimicking any appearance she has seen flawlessly and with a little more effort she can disguise her voice to match the face of the person she's imitating. This ability can be used as extreme camouflage as well, allowing her to blend in with her surroundings effortlessly. However, on a different note Jay is notably skilled when it comes to comforting and calming down others- it's a skill that’s come in handy for her many times in her past. Jay's ability to operate under pressure is also admirable and her brilliance seems to flourish when the stakes are high! However, another odd but useful skill she possesses is her ability to turn in a red furred black bear! In this form Jay maintains excellent eye sight and uses this form mainly as intimidation and rarely attacks while taking this form. Jay also prides herself in her ability not to let her animalistic vampiric instincts take control of her. It's been noted she’s got a vast amount of self control as well in regards to her vampiric needs.
Weaknesses:Jay gets very defensive and irritated when confronted with criticism. Because of her abusive past she doesn't handle it very well and has no problem expressing her irritation about it, especially when such criticism is said in regards to the way she trains her troops. She knows that she needs criticism to grow and improve but on the flip side it also makes her feel like she isn't good enough or she's not doing well enough without it. Jay also has a bit of a habit of biting off more than she can chew which often results in her becoming overwhelmed. When Jay gets too overwhelmed she tends to fall victim to her past and often during times of extreme stress she falls into minor bouts of depression. Jay also is extremely harsh on herself and when she does fall under a dark cloud her father's ghost tends to haunt her and makes her over-think every little thing that she does. Jay also isn't very good with keeping up a regular feeding schedule so in times of high stress she tends to get so focused and wrapped up in her work that she tends to forget to eat and hunt. However, in terms of physical weaknesses Jay has an extreme allergy to silver (it started out as a mild allergy as a human and then was amplified as she was turned into a vampire). Any form of silver-rings, crosses, necklaces, ect-can easily burn through her clothing and leave nasty marks on the skin that came in contact with it. Also Jay doesn't handle the daylight very well- despite it not burning her it tends to make her rather irritable. Jay also doesn't tan very well either being very fair skinned so being out too long in the sunlight runs her for the risk of getting sun burnt! On that note, however, Jay also cannot ingest garlic as it will make her violently ill.
