First Part Of The Story Here!
Nyra allowed Xedrin to move around a small amount, but making sure he didn't make too much noise. They were both sore, beaten, battered, and more than likely, starting to get hungry, they wouldn't be able to stay in the dense foliage too long before one of them would need something. Most of Nyra's stuff was left behind at his small, well, if one could call it; Camp.
Nyra could see the fear in Xedrin's right blue orbs, and knew that fear all too well, from either his own reflection from when he was younger, or in the faces of Indra's failed seconds.
"Hi" He answered back, watching the other flush, though wasn't to sure as to why. Yes, Nyra was very familiar with bedding both genders back with his people, but he was in no way familiar with emotions, feelings, and such.
"We'll give it a little bit longer, then we will head to a warm, safe place." He made sure to add a bit of emphasis on the /we/ in that statement, letting Xedrin know that he would take care of him for as long as he could. Which could be 1 day, or years, depending on how well he could hide Xedrin from his people, especially his Commander.
~~~~
Xedrin tried to keep himself very still. But it was clear he was used to doing so. His fingers were twitching as if counting them repeatedly. He was either agitated..which is likely or has an overactive mind.
He licked his lips and bit the lower one out of nervousness and when Nyra said that they had to stay there a little longer he was clearly trying not to wriggle to much on the ground. At the mention of we he blinked and his eyes widened a little.
"Y..You're willing to..to take me in..? What about the other G..grounders?"
He was picturing all the bad things that could happen to him at their hands and more fear echoed in his gaze.
~~~~
Nyra noticed, what appeared to be a nervous tick, right away. And he understood that just laying here was rather, annoying and in all reality, frightening to Xedrin, but Nyra knew it would pass, in time. He had plans for Xedrin, and come the end of them, he wouldn't be nervous out in the woods anymore.
Nyra watched as he chewed his lower lip, and watched the words sink in past the slight curls and into the other's mind. 'I will keep you safe, for as long as I can' He spoke out loud. 'Or until you're ready.' He thought to himself, he carefully lifted one of his hands and moved it behind his own head, seconds later, his mask was loose, and his other hand quickly and quietly caught it before it could really move from his face, and placed it on the ground next to Xedrin, exposing his whole face once more. His tongue darting out to wet his lips, running along the scarred skin.
~~~~
Xedrid watched as the mask came off and he found he licked his lips as well and then looked away. He'd never been confined this close to anyone before and keeping him still made his body nearly vibrate. He moved a leg and bumped Nyra with his knee even as he winced in pain.
With the mask removed it confirmed who it was and he couldn't help but ask. "W...why did you come back. They might have caught you again..."
He seemed very kind hearted. More worried about Nyra than himself. Which really wasn't a great survival instinct.
~~~~
Nyra took in a sharp, quick breath when he was bumped, but it was a small, barely noticeable reaction unless one was very closely paying attention. "You need to relax." He spoke, placing his large hand on the middle of Xedrin's chest, feeling his breathing as well as his heart rate.
Nyra looked away when asked that question, he actually didn't have an answer. All he remembers was hearing Xedrin scream, kicking water up on to the left over of his campfire, leaving some of his items behind and running in Xedrin's direction. As if he had no choice but to do it, his mind had not thought, his body just sprang in to action without his consent.
"They won't catch me a second time." He finally spoke, still looking away a bit, as if unsure, or afraid to see what expression the other wore, though his hand was still in it's place on the other's chest. As if he had forgotten, or was comfortable even though they were currently in a rather tight situation.
~~~~
Xedrin's heart rate was quick as was his breathing. His fear hadn't completely subsided and so he was still trembling as well. With Nyra's words he bit his lip and made a little nod though he had a wairy uncertain look on his face and who could blame him after the recent days.
He tried to stay still but one of his legs flexed and moved just a little again. He clenched his eyes closed and you could almost see the worried apology on his face.
At the mention of never catching Nyra again he murmured softly. "Th..they will kill you...us..both." He wasn't sure what else to say after that. he'd risked his own position in the camp to save a man he didn't know...and now...he had no home.
~~~~
Nyra saw no reason to scald the other for making a noise, he was well aware the other knew it was bad and was sure that a sound here and there would not draw the attention of the untrained teens. The grounder's hand stayed on Xedrin's chest, keeping track of his heart rate, realizing that it was not going down, and the boy was still in shook.
"You really need to calm down." His tone was rather monotone, as if unsure of how to be comforting or sincere. "I won't let them kill you, nor will I let them find us." Nyra's green eye's focused on the blue orbs of the other man, truth shone in the depths of his eyes, as if he believed the words he spoke to a hundred percent. He gently shifted his own body, though made no noise, his many years of practice and experience showed in that moment.
Nyra laid there and stared at the other, thinking of what to do, how long they'd have to wait before they could move to his personal home and get cleaned up.
~~~~
Xedrin knew it was bad that he'd made a sound and he seems to have this permanent look of fear and guilt on his face right now. He wasn't good at hiding his emotions. Infact it was quite easy to read him. He bit down on his lower lip so that the worried whimper sound was muffled.
Being told to calm down that as needed as it was didn't seem to help all that much. He nodded as if he was going to agree to calm down but his body seemed to have other ideas in mind. He wasn't used to the idea of people just outright wanting to kill him. He'd also never been alone in his life. Even when he was locked up he had visitors often enough and Nyra...well he was a stranger so he didn’t count at the moment.
Xedrins blue eyes were dilated with the adrenaline of fear running through him but when Nyra looked at his face he flicked his gaze down and away. After a time he whispered. "Wh..what happens now...?"
~~~~
Nyra shifted his weight silently again, he was starting to really get sore laying in the same position for this long on injuries.The slightly muffled whimper caught his attention, and he remembered his mother comforting his younger sister by gently petting her hair when they were younger, so he gave it a shot, hoping it would help calm the other down so that his thinking could become clear and his eyes less fearful. Nyra's large hand lifted from Xedrin's chest and slowly, carefully and gently pressed against the slight curls and started to gently run through them, "We wait for a bit, till we have the opportunity to leave," He paused for a moment to listen to the sounds and listening to the teens still yelling, still looking for them, but there were signs and sounds of them wanting to quit and give up the search. "Which shouldn't be too much longer, then we will go to my abode and fix up our injuries." He informed him, his tone still low and rumbling, his hand idly running through the two tones locks all while talking.
The acts and movements of Nyra were very unusual, and it was causing him to furrow his brows slightly as he thought to himself, and tried to figure out what was happening to his mind and body when he was around the smaller man. Indra had taught him so well to ignore his emotions and feelings to the point he didn’t remember what they felt like.
~~~~
Xedrin flinched briefly when the hand started petting his hair but then he settled into it and his breathing slowed a little not long after that. It wasn't perfect but it had helped. It was much better than it had been before the gentle contact.
He listened intently to Nyra's words and nodded but didn't say much at first. He could hear those around them searching still so that put him off a bit. After a moment more of the petting he pushed himself closer to Nyra and buried his face into the larger man’s chest. He was trembling again and his breathing was slightly heave, but quiet. One might be able to discern that he was crying, albeit very quietly. He'd learned to do that when he was in his cell in the past.
He hadn't realized the actions he'd taken, it had come by instinct. No one had given this type of contact in a long time..even if he could sense a bit of awkwardness behind it.
~~~~
Nyra let the smaller man curl up to him and bury his face in to his chest,the large Grounder actually responded by wrapping his arms around him, one around Xedrin's waist, the other around his shoulders, one hand resting in the small of Xedrin's back, the other at the nape of his neck, playing in the edge and roots of his hair to comfort him.
"Hussshhhh." The larger man gently cooed, still trying to remember how his mother would comfort his sister after her long days of training. "I'll keep you safe." He nuzzled his face in to the soft curls and held the petite male close, his mind was still spinning and swimming with confusion, though his body seemed to know exactly what to do.
He gently shifted, careful to not make any noise, or to disturb Xedrin."It shouldn't be much longer." He spoke in to Xedrin's hair, his breath warm against the other’s scalp.
~~~~
Xedrin curled in tighter and even tucked his legs up a little. It was amazing how small he could get himself. Maybe that's why he'd been a good thief...not that Nyra was aware of why they were down here in the first place.
He started to relax a bit more with the affection that was given to him, the goggles atop his head made his hair fluff out in places. The skin to skin contact of the back of his neck showed how warm Xedrin was to the touch. With all the running around and the fear and the chaos his body was a little overheated with the stress of it all.
With arm's around him though he was slowly able to still that twitchy edge and with Nyra's words a muffled. "O...ok." was murmured from slightly pouty lips.
~~~~
The Grounder let him curl in as much as he wanted to, shifting and moving so that they were both comfortable, pushing his fingers further up in the Xedrin's hair line and moving along his scalp. Nyra could tell that the other was starting to calm down and he wanted to keep it that way.
Nyra pulled him in by his waist so that they were as close together as they could be. "If you are tired, you can sleep. Nothing will happen to you." He told him, still talking in to Xedrin's hair, fogging the goggles with his warm breath. "You’ll need your strength for the trek home." Nyra told him, and made sure not to use we, our, my or anything of the sort, just called it home and left it to Xedrin to interpret it how ever he would feel comfortable.
Though Nyra was very well aware that yes, he'd be able to protect Xedrin from The 100, he wasn't fully sure he would be able to protect him from his own people, especially his Commander, but really, only time would tell and he was willing to push that time limit to it's further at the moment. Something about this moment, this closeness, this contact seemed different from any other time he had been with anyone, even family. It left him confused, unsure and lost, but he did his best to try and hide it, to stop the other from knowing he might just have a slight weak spot that could be poked at.
~~~~
Xedrin tipped his head forward and pressed his face more firmly into Nyra's chest, head turning so his cheek pressed there and he could hear the other man's heartbeat and breathing as well. The large hand slipping into his hair would find it slightly tangled but there was a clear undercurrent of softness to the slight curls.
He listened to Nyra mention sleep and he wasn't sure if he could sleep in this situation but his mind and body were both exhausted and would likely take care of that part for him. "How..how far is it?" he couldn't help but ask. 'Home?' he’d thought to himself and wondered what that might be. After all he wasn't one of the Grounders and he was very pale in skin. He looked exotic compared to those on the ground.
The closeness for Xedrin was mixed. It was confusing for him as well but to comforting to pass up and so he stayed where he was and drew in the strength from the much larger form that held him. He was perhaps 5'6 maybe 5'7 if he stood as straight as he could, compared to Nyra's booming height of 6' 3".
~~~~
Nyra let the other move and wiggle closer, taking in a deep breath when he was done moving around. His chest expanding quite a bit then slowly dropping back down as he let the air escape his lips. His large hands slowly started to pull through the knots, untangling them ever so gently, using his hand as a brush, much like he'd do with it own hair when it wasn’t all twisted up.
"In a run, it takes up about a quarter of the sun light, at a walk, nearly a full cycle, if not a bit less." He told him, knowing that they'd probably end up walking.
The hand that was in the small of Xedrin's back drew tired of being idle, Nyra was not one to often sit a hundred percent still, his fingers started to dance along the area over the clothing. Again, his body was acting without his mind thinking, though that movement could easily be excused as keeping the blood flowing to his digits if the other asked for an explanation.
~~~~
Not only were they likely to end up walking. But Xedrin had shorter legs than Nyra which may slow their pace, not to mention his endurance being much lower than the other mans. He nodded against the other with the explanation though he wasn't sure about going there. What would they do with him when they actually got back.
The fingers detangling his hair was oddly almost a comfort to him and it soothed him enough that his breathing was slowing and soon took to and even rhythm. The dancing fingers weren't noticed this time as he was falling asleep before they started to move which gave Nyra a bit more freedom, Xedrin seemed at the moment to be a fairly deep sleeper. Likely his emotions and fear had exhausted him to much to be able to stay awake.
~~~~
The larger male recognized the rhythmical breathing and half smiled in to Xedrin's hair, pleased he had taken the advice and fell asleep. He continued to detangle the two toned curls for a bit longer before he himself fell asleep, even though it was only noon, and the sun was high above them. Though thankfully the heavy brush shaded them nicely and kept them both nicely covered.
The larger man's fingers still played along Xedrin's back, even while he slept, and his other hand was fanned out behind Xedrin's head against his scalp, in a protective manor, holding him close and Nyra's face pressed in to the curls, up against the goggles. Chances are he'd wake up with the imprint of part of the goggles on his tanned cheek.
Nyra was fine with allowing himself fall asleep, he was well aware that he would wake up to any sudden movement or noise.
~~~~
Xedrin slept for a long time. He hadn't slept the night before after all due to having waited to distract the guard and what not and then the pain that had followed that. Exhaustion had brought him into a deeper sleep then he would normally be able to get.
With the hand pressing against his head and back it drew in comfort from the heat of the other man. He didn't even notice the likely stiffness he was getting from laying on the hard ground with the bruising that was welling up.
In fact the bruising would be pretty nasty and there was a likely chance at least one of his ribs were fractured from being kicked by the group. He might regret the stiffness later on but for now he nor his body cared what position that he fell asleep in just that it got the rest it needed. During the sleep one of his hands slid up between them and curled against the others chest weather there be fabric there or not. If there was he'd end up gathering a handful of it, if not his fingers would flex against the skin and ball up slightly.
~~~~
Nyra did not sleep as long as the other did, he was awoken by little fingers balling against part of his skin and the material of his shirt being pulled in to Xedrin's fist at the edge of a tear in said shirt. The larger man let out a small scuff, as if entertained by how comfortable the other had gotten, and how deep of a sleep he was in.
The sun was starting to set, it would be best for them to start moving now, and use the darkness as a cover for them from the The 100, who might still be on their posts and still be able to see them.
Nyra very, very carefully uncurled himself from the other, very carefully retrieved his shirt from the balled up fist, letting Xedrin rest on the ground while the larger man stood, cracking his neck and many of his other joints. Nearly every muscle in his body was stiff, many spots on his body bruised, torn up, the cauterized knife wound in his arm throbbed from having weight on it. Once he was stretched out, he leaned down, picked up his mask and put it in it’s rightful place on his face, then bent down again, this time to pick up the much smaller male. Carrying him bridal style, but keeping Xedrin as curled in and as close to his muscular body as possible and started to walk in the direction of his alcove, he'd go back to the lagoon for his stuff at a later date, they both were in desperate need of a good place to rest and recover in an area that was completely safe.
~~~~
Xedrin made a small sound when Nyra untangled himself from his smaller form. His finger tightened a moment on the fabric of that shirt tangling in the small tear there but for a brief time before Nyra was able to detangle them.
When Nyra stood up Xedrin curled into a tighter ball and wrapped arms about his body. A small whimper and a shiver as if he'd sense even in his sleep the departure of the other male from their contact. It didn't wake him though as his body wasn't used to all the chaos and excitement and had very nearly shut down. So when Nyra picked him up his eyes fluttered a crack so blue eyes could be seen but a moment before he'd felt the warmth of the firm chest he was curled back against in being picked up. His hand found the same fabric and tangled fingers into the tear before he settled still in Nyra's grip as the man carried him.
