[Birth]
Born 1986, under a full moon to a Romanian gypsy mother (Delilah) and English father (Patrick)
[Childhood]
Polaris was raised by her mother until she was 13, learning how to live freely and by her own rules. During this all too brief time, she became untouchable, inhabiting a realm that none other could reach, no matter how hard they tried. Her mother encouraged her independence, and taught her how to read the stars and the wind. Freedom became something she prized. She also learned to value life, love, and luck.
At fourteen, she finally met the father who had looked over her from afar, and moved to his manor in rural England. As she matured she became more beautiful and graceful, more ethereal. The people around her began to notice her unique spirit and aura, and they marveled. This girl would grow into the kind of woman who appeared once every few centuries, a woman who surpassed and broke all expectations, a woman who was both feared and awed. The invisible halo about her was both unnatural and compelling; it gripped their hearts and minds.
When she turned sixteen, she was given a rather rotund beagle as a birthday present. She called him Nightingale, which made more than a few eyebrows rise. The little dog was killed a few months later, which was when she first learned of her connection with the North Star. There had been a number of minor conflicts between her and the local children before (usually dealing with Pol being called a "witch" [small oddities were known to happen around her] or having her birthright questioned) but this was the first time they had acted on their prejudice. And it was the first time she had felt an emotion powerful enough to crush the breath from her lungs. She lost consciousness.
Polaris would learn from her father that she was "out" for three hours, and during that time the village down the road from their manor was irreparably damaged. An alarming series of natural disasters had swept over it as a whole, but some of the houses seemed to have suffered more than others; they were the homes of the prejudiced children, most of which had died in the wake of the fires and earthquakes. Most alarming of all were the accounts given by the few survivors. They all had one thing in common- the sighting of a flame haired girl with pale skin and piercing onyx eyes watching the scene, laughing as families burned to death, houses were crushed, and the land rose and dipped. Needless to say, Polaris was sent back to her mother at the earliest opportunity.

[Adulthood]
Polaris left her mother to attend college when she was 19. At first, everything went smoothly. She was an intelligent young woman, and her literary skills were exceptional. She took up a major in British literature, but nearly had to drop out at the end of her fourth term due to (correct) allegations of petty theft. It would seem she took up the hobby at a dare form a college friend, and it stuck. Who knew breaking into a couple of jewelry stores would become such an issue. To this day, she hasn't professed a want to stop, nor has she ever shown a wit of regret or been "officially" caught.
Soon after her twenty first birthday, she received word of her father's death. He hadn't been a young man when he married her mother, but his ending was still premature; it was the result of lung cancer. He had been a smoker his whole life and also a consumer of chewing tobacco. Oddly enough, his favorite horse had also shared the latter commodity...Pol was, to be quite frank, amazed that the stallion hadn't keeled over as well. The big brute had a habit of biting her, even when she brought him sugar cubes. She wouldn't have been sad to see him go. Unfortunately, the butler got his ownership once the estate was settled.
(That was one lucky horse.)
For a few years after losing her father, Pol drifted around the world, seeing the sights. She lost contact with her mother for months as she traveled. After settling for a bit in Italy, she began to exchange letters, only half hoping for a reply. (It wasn't assured that her mother could write.) After half a year of unanswered correspondence, she went in search of the group of gypsies Delilah was known to abide with, and learned that the wayward woman had gone off and settled in a homeless shelter somewhere. Polaris wasn't surprised to hear this. Her mother didn't have a proper education, having been a drifter the majority of her life. After checking a few nearby cities, Pol reluctantly admitted to herself that she would never find where her mother had disappeared. This knowledge marked the "passing" of both her parents, and it started the most recent chapter of her life.

I hold on to worry so tight
It's safe in here right next to my heart
Who now shouts at the top of her voice
Let me go, let me out, this is not my choice
I want to darken the skies
Open the flood gates up
I want to change my mind
I want to be enough
I want the water in my eyes
I want to cry until the end of time
Let the Rain x Sara Bareilles
Weenie says Mmmm... I feel like just dozing off right now. You're pretty good at this. = u=
