It all began... well, the day he was born. Octavius was an "accident." He was the son of his mother's boyfriend, someone her parents, his grandparents, loathed. They almost didn't let her give birth to him. Quite frankly, that would have been better. Letting him be born was the first mistake. Octavius was born at exactly midnight. At the same time an eclipse occurred. This was looked on as a terrible omen in the town he was born into. Scared, the 'leaders' of the town took him away from his mother at just five weeks old. They left him in the middle of a quiet forest. Not killing him then and there was the second mistake.

Less than an hour after being left, Octavius was found by a young man. The man took him home and raised him. Trained him. Made him devoid of all emotion. Taught him to kill at the age of five. Octavius was a natural at fighting, much to the man's liking. When the man, who he called his father, formed a group of assassins he made Octavius, then only sixteen, the second-in-command.

Instantly jobs were coming in. A criminal here, an officer there, a few unfaithful partners and the ones they were seeing. Octavius took care of jobs where the client wanted the victim to suffer a while. Sure, other members could make someone suffer, but Octavius just did it so much better. He felt no sympathy, no care, no love. The exact reason why when someone wanted his mother and grandparents dead, he was chosen to kill them.

The third and final mistake was letting Octavius back into his old village. All he had to do was give himself a few injuries, look hopeless, and act nice- all things he despised doing. The village, thinking he had grown into a fine young man at heart, welcomed him with open arms. He went straight to his family's country house, met his mother and grandparents all smiling with teary eyes, and killed all three before saying a single word. Their shocked faces brought an evil smile to his face. He had killed his own mother without a second thought. Nothing could ever stop him. He was better than all except his father. Or at least, that was what he thought.

Earlier in Octavius's life his father had brought his half-brother to him. They were supposed to share the position of second-in-command. Something happened, however, and Heroic, his half-brother, got away. Octavius looked on this as him running away, and in all honesty quickly forgot about Heroic. Until Heroic rose up with a group of his own to oppose Eclipse. Octavius, seeing this as a small annoyance, met up with his brother for a duel, intending to kill him. Their secret fight lasted until Astavion found them and broke it up, leaving with an injured Octavius after telling Heroic he awaited the day they would be partners. Octavius then realized his half-brother was his equal in power. Since then, he's sought to destroy him, no matter what it takes.
