"What is my name?" an Obsideon shouted in her village,
a town that was riddled and cursed with normality
had not known what a name was for years.
People had no ties to names as they could be
bought and sold for commodities, they had no meaning,
no title, nothing. This Obsideon only knew of her breed from her mothers words and her fathers absence. She grew tired of tossing a stone back and forth between pals who cared more about what color grey or white suited them the best. The only solace and peace this Obsideon found was at night, staring into the coal black sky, the silence spoke as if a guardian angel sent to keep her sane throughout the days.

Every night this Obsideon wished to be someone worth being. She prayed to the night, because the stars had escaped their village ever since they had been bought out too and became toys for children to play with or jewelry for women to ogle at. The night had become lonely, but it was this loneliness that this Obsideon found tranquility.

The Obsideon knelt before the night like she had since before she could remember, and prayed to become something, anything worth meaning. A little voice trembled down her fur and had it standing on edge as it crawled into her chest and spoke in her own voice, "You do not need to search for meaning, you invent it." The Obsideon didn't quite understand this at all, was she going insane? The voice spoke again. "You are meaning without a title, you are a Maskless."

The Obsideon grasped her chest as the voice fluttered about causing an array of butterflies to move up and down her body like she was floating. She caught her breath long enough to reply. "A Maskless, what is that?"

The voice rang in her ears like a melody she had knew all her life "An Oracle. You give what you cannot receive, and you see what others take years learning. You're a Maskless." The Obsideon began to look at herself in the night and the butterflies softened to a light flutter, she could feel her cheeks begin to deepen as she repeated "I am a Maskless," feeling herself crawling on her paws towards the sky, then running on her legs until they lunged her body forward, she knew where she was. Home.

The next evening the Village where the Obsideon lived all gasped as they saw her reflection in the night sky, she had no face as it was coal black, but they could tell it was her. The villagers began telling stories to the children about stars again, and the people returned to asking for guidance instead of buying it. They turned to Maskless; their Oracle, their guardian, their heart.
