The Ringmaster
A rich, booming voice assaults your ears as you draw near the Carnival - beckoning to you and extolling the wonders of the myriad of delights awaiting you.
The owner of the wonderful voice comes into view, and he is not at all what you expected. Your imagination had supplied you with the image of a grand figure, clad in a scarlet jacket, trimmed with golden buttons and fringe, a shining black top hat and exuding charm and personality. Instead, you are greeted by a towering Braenon in a shade of such dark blue that it almost gleamed black. The buttons and trim on his coat were a cold silver, and almost seemed to be edged with ice. When he spoke, his breath clouded the air with mist, and the sparse crowd kept a careful distance, as his body emitted a bone-chilling cold.
"Come one, come ALL!"
There was a time when Lucan met the traditional expectations of his spectators, and his circus drew massive crowds wherever it went. But that was before he landed on the wrong side of the Ringling Bros. and their witch. She cursed him, dooming him to the darkness and cold, and since that day his performers have deserted him one by one, and circus-goers have become few and far between. Lucan still tries to ply his trade, with only a few performers still loyal to him. One day he will find the key to the curse and regain his former splendour. And the beautiful Irie may play a greater role than Lucan realizes...
