Adopted from Cynicism on February 26th, 2011~ Thank you *u*
Kirschtorte's lips pulled up in a wide smirk. She stared at the crowd evenly, meeting every frightened and confused stare that bore into her. She could see they were waiting for reassurance- something to show them they were not out of place. She decided it was time to begin. She switched from her mocking sneer to a confident smile that was soft and maternal. Coughing faintly, she began to speak, tottering from a whisper to a voice loud enough to be considered a shout. The crowd's eyes widened- they certainly weren't expecting such a rough, scratchy voice on such a delicate figure. "You all came here today to hear a candidate for your ruler speak..," She let out a soft giggle, "Surely you weren't expecting me. But, unfortunately, all the other candidates have unexpectedly dropped out, may we say to be it brief?" She snickered at the crowd's reaction - she ignored the cusses and questions of the bewildered crowd. "Silence!" Her friend, Gridlock, rasped. She murmured a quick word of appreciation to him and started again. "Of course, because of this most dreary fact, I am automatically your ruler." The protest was mainly cursing this time- and shouts of reticence. "I am indifferent to what you think- I am the ruler and there is nothing you can do about it." She didn't seem to care about how childish she sounded. "Now you'd like to hear what my plans are, huh?" She put on a playful grin and glanced at the crowd. She put on her best persuasive, caring and confident voice and began the speech."You'll see - all of you will soon be rich, I'll put a few thousand towards the work of gold mining in this community. We'll look to hire servants to plant trees and crops and dig ditches for wells. We'll also get them to chop down some of those trees and build mansions and castles for our very own members of the community. I'll do all the work- as for you guys? Nothing. Don't have to even lift a finger. Relax is all you'll have to do." She stared at the crowd. Clearly, it had worked. They were smiling hopefully at each other, slapping each others backs, embracing- a few lowly worded promises and exaggerated vows and Kirschtorte already had them under her wing. If only they knew what she had really planned.
Kirschtorte was taught a young age that the only thing she had to do was put on her most promising voice, her most sincere eyes, and her most truthful smile, and she'd receive what she wanted. The thing she thirsted for most was power - with her simple skills and her ability to act, it wasn't such a hard thing to gain. It helped that everyone assumed she was sugary from her name, and her appearance. This was how it worked for her - it was an easy process, really; all she'd do was pretend to be sweet and innocent, secretly planning her manipulative idea, so everyone was surprised when she took them down.
Human appearance; Kirschtorte is a rather cute and childish looking being. She has pale, chalky, ivory skin, and her cheeks are always a cheerful red rosy color. She's extremely short for her age. At twenty years old, she only stands at about 4'8". This would normally make someone look weak and vulnerable, but in her case, it gives her more of a natural authority. Her hair is a neatly trimmed bob that reaches the very tip of her ears, and square bangs cover the majority of her forehead. Her hair color is certainly her most noticeable feature: It's tinted a strange minty dark pine color, and it's a big point of gossip. She is constantly asked how in the world she got it that color, but she ignores anyone who annoys her about it. As for clothing: Because she travels a lot, she normally wears fur-stuffed hiking boots, a pale beige color; a faded auburn red dress with black jeans underneath; and a stuffy washed-out green rain jacket. She also sometimes drapes cloth "Christmas lights" over her outfit to humor her friends and to startle a crowd whose gossip included the assumption that she was some sort of 'elf'.
Family - None that she remembers. The people she considers closest to family- Torvald and Cheetah - she only sees once every few years. Acquaintances- Gridlock. Though they've traveled together for many years, Kirschtorte and Gridlock have never developed more than a distant work partner relationship.
