Having wandered off of the main concourse, you find yourself in front of a small round tent. Unlike the rest of the circus tents, which are extravagantly embellished and sport rich colours and patterns, this one is made of unadorned black silk. The only sign is a black pendant bearing a ring of fire. Unable to restrain your curiosity, you peek inside, and catch a glimpse of an attractive young Mericai with her nose in a book. You instantly recognize her as the circus's star performer, and begin to wonder what led such a beautiful young woman, and a bookworm to boot, to the circus..

Irie was the youngest child of seven, born to an impoverished family who had little time for the energetic and flighty young girl. The unintended neglect had a considerable effect on her, as she always had to fight for attention. Irie was forced to drop out of school at a young age, and went to work with the rest of her siblings busking in the village square. She was the most talented of her brothers and sisters, and her small frame lent itself to high-flying feats of acrobatics. When an aged Braenon saw the children's performance, he offered them an act in his circus. All but Irie refused, and she left her family behind that day to eke out a more fulfilling living.

The following night, you make your way to the big top and you're pleased to discover the young Mericai you had seen the night before had just taken the stage. You are awed by her act - her fiery red hooves dance around the ring, effortlessly executing jumps, flips and intricate choreography. Red and gold body paint gleams on her body as she gallops by you, picking up speed for her grand finale - a leap through an impossibly high hoop. As her hooves leave the ground, her Pyroklast assistant takes flight and breathes a tendril of fire towards the hoop. It bursts alight just as Irie soars through it, and your heart skips a beat as Irie herself is engulfed in flames. Her return to the ground is an explosion of flames and uproarious applause, and she canters around the ring, still smouldering.

When Irie is performing, she personifies the colourful and lush atmosphere of the circus. Her coat, mane and tale shine an ebony black, and her hooves are painted a fiery bright red. Intricate patterns adorn her body in red and gold body paint, catching the light as she moves. Her dark eyes flash under lush, long lashes, and she seems like a creature out of legend. Outside the ring, Irie keeps to herself, reading in her personal tent in her spare time. She comes off as haughty and proud, but she is a loyal friend with a true heart. The decline of the circus's fortunes is a source of deep concern, but she refuses to abandon it for a more popular and lucrative travelling show. Irie is a young woman of passionate extremes, and she harbours a deep love for Lucan, the Ringmaster.
