You leaned in, admiring the watch more closely. "Yes, it was my grandfather's..."
He nodded, never taking his eyes off of the watch. "You should be very proud. Well, I gotta get off to the market for the groceries. Take care, sir!"
You smiled, waving goodbye. You turned to the fruit stand, picked out a couple oranges, and reached in your pocket for your wallet. There was nothing but lint.
You swerved back in the direction the boy took off, but he was nowhere in sight.
