We live in a society in which we are too afraid of disagreement, that we force ourselves to be submissive, to agree to anything just to avoid conflict.
It's amazing it's taken me this long to figure that out.
I live in a small community, called Harmony. It's a new development in future human environments to see how would could prevent war in the future. Because honestly, who doesn't want world peace?
What they didn't tell us is that we'd be trapped here; once in Harmony, you can never leave. Others can't know about us, and the experiment would be ruined if someone were to leave, get "infected" by the real world, and then return to Harmony. Everyone would be contaminated.
So we are fenced off; the fence goes all around with a large and heavily guarded gate at the entrance of the city for supplies. It is electrified and barb-wired to further discourage escapees.
I'm stuck here, struggling under the overwhelming force of the brainwashed leaders who control me and this society. Nothing gets done; just peace, glitter, rainbows, and happiness.
And sometimes I start to wonder...
